Our magnetic integral glass blinds boast an innovative design where smooth, sliding magnetic blocks, discreetly positioned around the frame, deliver effortless operation.

This totally cordless system not only offers a stylish look, but also eliminates the clutter and safety risks associated with traditional cord-operated mechanisms.

The integral blind system features a contemporary Venetian style with a full lifting action that moves in one seamless motion, while an integrated tilt function allows you to fine-tune both privacy and shading settings to suit your needs.

Factory-fitted to ensure a flawless installation, these magnetic blinds are manufactured to the highest standards, with stronger magnets for balanced operation and enhanced durability.

With an extensive range of slat colours (each paired with borders and magnets in matching colours), you can easily customise the look to complement any décor.

Additionally, the blinds are fully adaptable with a variety of glazing options, including solar shading, low E, fire-rated, and noise reduction treatments (available upon request). All units are argon filled and come with toughened A-rated glass as standard, ensuring excellent energy efficiency and durability.

Prices are based on a 28mm thick double-glazed unit (DGU) incorporating integral blinds, using 4mm toughened glass and 4mm soft coat as standard.

    How are integral blinds operated?

    There are plenty of different blind mechanisms out there, including remote-control motorised blinds, corded blinds with side-winder operation, and solar control blinds. What sets magnetic integrated blinds apart is that they are operated using a magnetic slider instead of a traditional cord or modern remote.

    Not only are these integral blinds installed inside the sealed unit, manufactured to fit precisely in between the two panes of glass, but the mechanism is also hidden for a sleek and minimal look. A narrow guide at the edge allows the integrated blinds to be raised, lowered, or tilted by moving magnetic blocks.

    The magnetic transmission works through the glass panes, so you can manually adjust the integral blinds inside the sealed glazing with little effort, whether they’re installed in double glazed or triple glazed windows, sliding doors, or bifold doors.

    What are warm edge spacer bars for integrated blinds?

    Double glazing and triple glazing are staple systems for modern windows and glass doors, as they use multiple panels to increase insulation and reduce sound and heat transmission, improving the building’s energy performance thanks to the reduced heat loss.

    When you install integral blinds inside a double glazed sealed unit, spacers will be used to maintain the width of the cavity around the perimeter frame. This defines the distance between the inner pane and outer pane and forms a direct contact between them.

    This creates a ‘thermal bridge’ where low outdoor temperatures could spread to the inner pane if there is a large thermal difference between the outside and inside. Warm edge spacer bars can help to improve energy efficiency here if they’re made from a less conductive material.

    Without warm edge spacer bars bridging the perimeter of the system, there will be a higher risk of heat loss during cold temperatures and condensation forming on the interior pane, which could lead to mould growing inside. It’s therefore essential to consider the material of your spacer bars.

    I’ve used Express Toughening twice now and have been very impressed with the glass they have supplied and also the helpfulness of the staff. The first job was a couple of years ago when they supplied me with a 6mm satin frosted toughened glass door for our shower room. From my measurements they supplied a fabulous door which had the hinge and lock holes cut out and also took into account the out of square measurement of the door frame. It fitted a treat and is stunning to look at.

    More recently (late last year) they supplied me with painted toughened glass splash backs (7 items altogether in 6mm glass with the biggest being 2.1 metres long), all cut to my sizes and with numerous switch and socket cut-outs. My local glass supplier said they could not cut out the close together sockets and switches, but Express did and got it spot on!

    As with the glass door, the splash backs were delivered to me by Expresses’ own transport and without any problems and quality issues.

    After the scary bit of fitting them all the result is faultless and stunning. Thanks go to Alex who helped me with the ordering process and technical aspects of glass splash backs.

    4mm toughened glass for greenhouse. Although slightly dubious about ordering from a company I’ve never heard of and not local (300mile away) I’m so glad I took the plunge. A great customer service from Helen and the team from start to finish, clearly there was nothing for me to worry about.

    Their website is easy to use and made ordering online a doddle and for those shapes, they don’t have on their website a quick email and rough diagram sorted any issues there. All glass arrived on time well packed and with no breakages.

    It’s a company I wouldn’t hesitate to use again and I’d definitely recommend it to others who need quality glass cut to size.
