Toughened Glass
Toughened glass or otherwise known as tempered glass is generally used for both residential and commercial projects. This type of glass can be up to five times stronger than regular glass, proving this to be a very popular safety glass for our customers. In the event of high impact the glass will break into blunt pieces, unlike normal glass, helping reduce possible injury. Toughened glass is typically used for balustrades, windows, table tops, shower screens, shelves, splashbacks, doors and much more!
Clear toughened glass is made from clear float glass, the process exposes the float glass to high temperatures then rapidly cools them down. As a result creating what we know as toughened glass.
Clear Float is a multi-purpose clear glass. It is a high quality, clear annealed glass, manufactured by the float process. Available in a wide range of thicknesses (4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 15mm), clear float is the base glass which can be processed into insulated glass, laminated glass, toughened glass, etched glass, sandblasted glass, and painted coloured glass. This float glass has several applications – from furniture to all-glass structural facades.
This float glass fulfils all architectural needs – be it for glass roofing, glass windows, greenhouses, balconies or canopies. It can also be applied in interior décor for glass shelves, furniture, shower doors and even balustrades.
