If you can’t find a splashback print that suits your tastes, you’re free to provide us with your own image, whether it’s your favourite photo or artwork (as long as you have legal permission to use it). You can even supply a Shutterstock ID and we’ll calculate the image dimensions for you.

Maybe you have a very specific layout and you’re looking for bespoke sizes or other thicknesses than those listed. Once you have the exact measurements, you can get in touch with us to request a custom quote, and we’ll help you make the perfect splashback.

When we say made to measure, we mean it – we’re happy to accommodate extra features like socket cutouts for plug sockets if you notify us of your needs beforehand. Whether you’re trying to fit your splashback around cupboards or an oven hood or a vanity unit in a bathroom, we can assist you.

Is it safe to put a glass splashback behind a gas hob?

With multiple pots and pans on the go while cooking any given meal, a kitchen can quickly become a hot and hectic space. When you’re constantly using a heat source like a hob for long periods of time, it’s important to ensure the area is safe.

This means that kitchen splashbacks should be made from a heat-resistant material, like toughened glass. Other options like acrylic panels or mirrors won’t be able to endure high temperatures without warping the way a toughened glass kitchen splashback can.

Practical toughened glass splashbacks from Express Toughening can give you peace of mind that your kitchen is safe to cook in while maintaining the stunning look and smooth surface of your high-quality product – which is certainly a cost-effective investment.

That said, prolonged direct exposure to a heat source can still damage the surface of toughened glass. It’s therefore important to ensure there’s a gap of at least 10cm between the bottom edge (where the kitchen splashback meets the worktop) and the nearest edge of the gas hob.

How are glass kitchen splashbacks mounted on the wall?

When their glass splashback features a printed image, customers usually don’t want to ruin the quality by screwing the panel to the kitchen wall, because this means adding holes for the screws and being able to see them at the corners.

That’s why we offer the option to purchase a silicone adhesive when placing your order, which can be used to stick kitchen splashbacks directly to walls without a fuss. All you need to do to prepare the surface is make sure it’s smooth and clean.

This means you don’t have to drill into any walls or have any fixings on show, but if you would rather fix your glass splashback to the wall this way, there is also the option to order a pack of four screws for delivery along with your kitchen splashback.

However, it’s important to note that if you do want to use screws, you must speak to our team to request that we pre-drill the holes for you, as the glass cannot be cut after it has already been made to measure and gone through the toughening process.

Do you offer a colour-matching service for kitchen splashbacks?

We can produce custom printed glass splashbacks in a variety of sizes and shapes, allowing you to choose an image of your own in any colour you like.

However, while we can help you create bespoke splashbacks with printed images using this order building tool, we cannot colour-match from an image file if you would like a made-to-measure kitchen splashback in a specific colour.

If you would like a glass splashback in a single colour, we do offer a colour-matching option for our painted glass splashbacks, which are back-painted in the same shade all over. This allows us to colour-match your kitchen splashback using colour codes from standardised systems like RAL, Pantone, and Dulux.

This is a great way to create a cohesive kitchen design if you want to match your décor with a consistent palette throughout the space!

I’ve used Express Toughening twice now and have been very impressed with the glass they have supplied and also the helpfulness of the staff. The first job was a couple of years ago when they supplied me with a 6mm satin frosted toughened glass door for our shower room. From my measurements they supplied a fabulous door which had the hinge and lock holes cut out and also took into account the out of square measurement of the door frame. It fitted a treat and is stunning to look at.

More recently (late last year) they supplied me with painted toughened glass splash backs (7 items altogether in 6mm glass with the biggest being 2.1 metres long), all cut to my sizes and with numerous switch and socket cut-outs. My local glass supplier said they could not cut out the close together sockets and switches, but Express did and got it spot on!

As with the glass door, the splash backs were delivered to me by Expresses’ own transport and without any problems and quality issues.

After the scary bit of fitting them all the result is faultless and stunning. Thanks go to Alex who helped me with the ordering process and technical aspects of glass splash backs.

4mm toughened glass for greenhouse. Although slightly dubious about ordering from a company I’ve never heard of and not local (300mile away) I’m so glad I took the plunge. A great customer service from Helen and the team from start to finish, clearly there was nothing for me to worry about.

Their website is easy to use and made ordering online a doddle and for those shapes, they don’t have on their website a quick email and rough diagram sorted any issues there. All glass arrived on time well packed and with no breakages.

It’s a company I wouldn’t hesitate to use again and I’d definitely recommend it to others who need quality glass cut to size.
